Hamburger and Hot Dog Buns

I get tons of request for these whenever we are attending a BBQ
This blog is seriously one of the best homemade food blogs EVER

I have tweaked it just a tiny bit

1 cups warm buttermilk
1/2 cup warm milk1.5 teaspoon yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg
1/3 cup oil
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 TB dough enhancer (LINK)

Mix yeast, buttermilk and milk (110 degrees NO HIGHER), honey and dough enhancer and allow to sit for a few minutes until it is bubbly.

.
With a the flat beater mix until well combined

Start adding in flour 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well between additions.

After about 2-2 1/2 cups or so switch to the dough hook.

Continue adding flour and kneading until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Place in a greased bowl and allow to rise until doubled in a warm, draft free location. I stick mine in the oven(off of course)

Punch down and knead again, with a little flour if necessary.

Divide into pieces(this makes about 12 good sized buns, I sometimes make a few into smaller ones for "kid size") and shape to your preferences, hot dog, hamburger, sandwich rolls, whatever you like!

If you want to add a topping brush with beaten egg whites and sprinkle it on.....sesame seeds, minced onion, minced garlic, poppy seeds, herbs.....

Let rise another 1/2 an hour.
Preheat oven to 350

Bake 15-20  minutes depending on the size of your buns They are done when they sound hollow when thumped on the bottom
Allow to cool before slicing.
